The Second Chance Institute was located in Phoenix, Arizona. The Institute promised to restore youth to people. This was a false front, however. The Institute was actually gathering people for a malevolent alien viral swarm to feed upon.

The viral swarm was driven back to their own realm by the Secret Defenders and the Second Chance Institute was shut down.
