Before Cody Fleisher became the undead superhero Cadaver, he lived in Seattle, Washington where he had a childhood friend named Frank.

One night Frank and Cody wer hanging out in a cemetery, which is something they did often. Frank asked Cody what he thinks will happen to him after he dies. Cody said he didn't believe anything happened. He firmly disbelieved in any kind of afterlife. Frank didn't agree at all. Frank and the other kids thought Cody's beliefs about there being no afterlife sounded depressing. Cody didn't agree.

Later Cody died and returned to life as the macabre hero "Cadaver."
