Rising Stars #16
Poet [John Simon] travels to Jerusalem, where Laurel Darkhaven is preparing to bring peace to the Middle East by using her superpower to destroy both the Dome of the Rock and the Western Wall. Her theory is that the Jews and the Arabs will have a common loss (their respective holy places) and will come to peace in their mourning. Poet offers a different plan. He suggests to her that if she can use her powers to make the land of the Middle East region more fertile, there will be no need to fight over the productive areas of land. Laurel follows his suggestion, but dies in the process. Note: The Hebrew word on the cover has a typo...
