Samuel Fisk maintained the identity of a crimelord, like his famous grandfather, only for the sake of appearances. In reality, he was the heroic Daredevil of the 2099 era. He adopted the identity of the famous crimefighter Daredevil from a century past in order to make up for his "fate" as the heir to a criminal line.
