Dale Spangler was the most popular boy in school at Payton Noble High School in Beverly Hills.
When Jubilee (of the X-Men) moved in with her aunt (Hope Lee) and began attending the school, Dale Spangler befriended her. This caused a confrontation between Dale's jealous girlfriend Missy Lopez. Missy forced Jubilee into a fight, which led to Jubilee having to work as a student counselor at the school.
Dale broke up with Missy and began dating Jubilee's new friend, the shy Meg Devereaux.
Dale was really very nice and Jubilee quickly developed a crush on him.
