The Host is a living, sentient pathogen that may have been developed by Harrison Taylor.

The Host infected Mystique but was ultimately defeated by her.

Reports seem to vary as to whether the Host is a mutant who can infect people with various diseases, or whether the Host is actually a sentient, living pathogen (specifically, a virus). The actual nature of the Host may have been ambiguous in the stories in which the character appeared.

The Host appeared as a "green-haired woman." Was this a human or mutant infected by the Host? Or was this the Host itself or herself?

When Mystique encountered the Host, the Host identified herself as a freedom fighter who fought to free deadly viruses.
