Anthony Bronson was a night watchman who worked at a warehouse. His son (or step-son), Spencer, had the mutant ability to manipulate people. Mr. Bronson's son briefly used Anthony Bronson as a pawn.

Sources seem to differ as to whether Spencer Bronson is the biological son or step-son of Anthony Bronson. In any case, Anthony Bronson was divorced from Spencer's mother at the time he was introduced as a character.

Mystique tricked Anthony Bronson's close friend and co-worker Bill into telling her where Anthony Bronson lives. Mystique showed up at the home using her mutant shapeshifting ability to appear as Bill, thus gaining entry into the home.
