The Hardcases were a group of people who worked as agents (or allies?) of the living vampire Vic Slaughter. At Slaughter's behest, the Hardcases attacked the heroic living vampire Morbius. Unfortunately for them, the Hardcases were all killed by Morbius.
Vic Slaughter himself continued as a threat to Morbius for many more issues. But the Hardcases (being dead) were never seen again after their initial appearance and death in Morbius #6. The Hardcases group was apparently never re-constituted. (Who would want to join such an unsuccessful, fatal group as this?)
Why did the Hardcases follow or ally themselves with Vic Slaughter? Were they vampire aficionados? Or did they simply do it for the money? This could be researched further.
