Mr. Felden was a landlord on Staten Island who showed the Fantastic Four an apartment after they were evicted from the Baxter Building. But Mr. Felden refused to rent to them, explaining, "...what happens when the Mole Man drops by for a visit and trashes the place? No security deposit in the world is gonna cover that kind of damage."

Susan Storm Richards tried unsuccessfully to convince him, pleading, "Please, Mr. Felden, we've been looking at apartments all day..."

Mr. Felden replied, "I understand and I am not entirely without sympathy, Mr. Richards. Nor have I forgotten what you and your family have done for this city. My brother owns a hotel in Manhattan. Give him a call. It's not fancy, but maybe..."

Fortunately for the Fantastic Four, Mr. Felden's referral panned out. Mr. Felden's brother did indeed run a hotel in Manhattan. It was very run down, but very inexpensive, and Mr. Felden's brother let the Fantastic Four move in.
