Johnny Storm (the Human Torch) and Ben Grimm (The Thing) both had the same dream, a nightmare caused by the villain Psycho-Man. In the dream, Johnny Storm was stationed at an Antarctic military outpost. He worked with a soldier, apparently a superior officer, named Hughes. The dream was reminiscent of the film The Thing from Another World (1951). That film has no character in it named "Hughes."

In the dream, Hughes reminded Johnny Storm that the creature they were hunting, a creature found in a block of ice, had already killed 17 of their men.

Other people seen in the dream that the Fantastic Four had were based on people they knew, but we are not sure where "Hughes" came from.
