Solemne Brannex was a scientist who worked for the international terrorist organization A.I.M. She claimed to be the sister of Alessandro Brannex, the leader of A.I.M. This is almost certainly not true, however, because Alessandro Brannex was actually a Super-Adaptoid only masquerading as a human. The true identity of Solemne Brannex was never revealed. Perhaps this was not her real name, but she adopted this name in order to gain favor within A.I.M. Perhaps "Solemne Brannex" is her real name and the Super-Adaptoid "Allesandro Brannex" was based on her brother. The truth about Solemne Brannex was never revealed.

When A.I.M. located a Shi'ar spacecraft, the planned to acquire the craft and use its advanced alien technology to further their goals. For some reason, Solemne Brannex decided this would not be for the best, and she contacted the world peacekeeping organization SHIELD to tell them of AIM's plans. Because of Solemne Brannex's help, Nick Fury and SHIELD was able to prevent A.I.M. from keeping the Shi'ar ship.
