Isaac Stark was an ancestor of Tony Stark (Iron Man). Isaac's father was the president of a railroad company.

As a youth, Isaac was held hostage by the Wizard of the West's gang, in a kidnapping-for-ransom scheme. Isaac was rescued by the Rawhide Kid, and then he assisted the gunslinging hero in his battle against the Wizard of the West and his gang.

Isaac drew inspiration from the alien technology that the Wizard of the West had found and used. But instead of using it for selfish, criminal purposes (as the Wizard had done), Isaac wanted to use technology to help people.
