Roscoe briefly (and fatally) took on Captain America's identity.

Roscoe first appeared in Captain America (vol. 1) #178 (Oct. 1974). When the character was first introduced, he was simply an attendant at the gym Steve Rogers was working out at. In Captain America's absence, Roscoe thought of becoming the new Captain America. He finally donned the Captain America costume and started operating as the new Cap in Captain America (vol. 1) #181 (Jan. 1975).

Roscoe's career as Captain America was short-lived, for he was soon killed by the Red Skull.
