Henzel was introduced in Captain America #185 and he died in the same issue. Henzel was killed after politely suggesting that the Red Skull reconsider his plan.

In panel 4 on page 4 in Captain America (vol. 1) #185, Henzel was standing guard in the Red Skull's secret headquarters when the Skull declared how much he hated seeing Peggy Carter (a white SHIELD agent) seem too close to Gabe Jones (a black SHIELD agent). This interracial potential romance disgusted the Red Skull, and he wanted to do something about it, even though he was in the middle of a campaign to destroy the American economy.

The Red Skull turned to Henzel and said: "It must not continue! It shall not continue! With my plan going so well, I can easily add another front! Henzel! I shall crush those two 'lovers'!"

Henzel, clearly afraid of the Skull, nevertheless spoke his mind, saying: "Might I suggest, Her Skull, that you... uh... reconsider perhaps? Since your plan is so successful..."

The Red Skull quickly grabbed Henzel by the throat and shouted: "You think I dare too much, eh? You hund! You would not speak thus, Henzel, if my defeat had not been so ignominious the last time I attacked America! WOULD you?"

The Red Skull then went on to recount his last defeat, including explaining how he escaped death when Captain America and the Falcon thought he had died and thought his body had been destroyed in the explosion of the Fifth Sleeper.

Then the Red Skull concluded: "This time, Henzel, I cannot lose."

Henzel, clearly afraid, said: "Ja, mein Herr, but--"

The Red Skull tossed some of his red dust into Henzel's face, killing the Nazi henchman by tightening the skin on his face around his skull and turning the skin on his face red.

Standing over Henzel's dying body, the Red Skull proclaimed: "No one questions me!"
