SHIELD scientis Dr. Erik Gorbo created a serum that transformed himself into a monster ape, and also gave him the power to mentally control animals.

When Dr. Gorbo (as the "Monster Ape") first tested his power, he tried it out on dogs in New York City. A woman walking her dog, Prince, watched helplessly as her dog (under Gorbo's mental control) joined with other dogs to attack police and create chaos.

The name of Prince the dog is identified in panel 5 on page 14 in Captain America #135. The woman who is walking her dog and then losing control of it says: "Prince-- Wait! Where-- Where are you going?"
