Agent 22 was a founding member of the all-female SHIELD combat squad known as "Femme Force." Sharon Carter (Agent 13) trained Agent 22 along with the other agents on the Femme Force squad. Agent 22 was with them from the formation of the squad.

On their first mission, Femme Force was flying from New York City to attack a HYDRA base in Las Vegas, Nevada. Agent 22 was standing by the door of the plane during the flight, and Captain America (who was leading the mission) was suspicious of her. Cap's suspicions proved to be well-founded, for moments after he voiced his concern, a HYDRA aircraft attached itself to their plane and Agent 22 opened the door to let the HYDRA agents board the SHIELD plane.

After a fierce battle, Captain America and Femme Force were able to defeat the HYDRA agents. The HYDRA agents were turned over to authorities when they landed in Las Vegas. Agent 22 was presumably turned over along with the male HYDRA agents who had boarded the plane.

Like other HYDRA agents, Agent 22 seemed to be a "true believer" in their insurrectionist cause. When Captain America saw her opening the door, he shouted: "Agent 22... She's opening the exit door! Get away from there, you fool! You don't know what you're doing! ...Or do you?!"

Agent 22 replied: "I know exactly what I'm doing! Hail HYDRA!"
