But Nick Fury's girlfriend, SHIELD agent Contessa Valentina, noticed the assassin's black shoes (something nurses don't wear, she noted) and rushed to stop the assassination attempt.

This unnamed assassin was clearly a zealot in his beliefs and in his devotion to the Yellow Claw. After the Contessa stopped him from killing Nick Fury, the assassin jabbed himsed with a fatally poisonous ring spike. While dying, he told her triumphantly: "In any event, my usefulness is at an end now that my mission is no longer a surprise! Ths uproar will bring your fellow agents, but no information shall they learn from me! May I serve Great Spirits after death as I served the Yellow Claw before it! All hail the new order!"
