Fogwell is presumably the founder and owner of "Fogwell's Gym," a somewhat run-down boxing gym located on the Lower East Side in New York City.

In the opening pages of the very first issue of the comic book series that introduced Daredevil (Daredevil #1, Apr. 1964), Daredevil arrived at Fogwell's Gym, looking to avenge his father's death. At Fogwell's Gym, Daredevil fought and defeated some bruises who worked for the Fixer: Porky, Sam and some others. Slade, another of the Fixer's henchmen, and the Fixer himself ran away.
