Mason Hollis was an Assistant District Attorney serving under New York City's newly elected District Attorney Foggy Nelson. Nelson did not know that Hollis also had a secret masked identity: he was the costumed crime lord known as "Crime-Wave."
Crime-Wave sent the costumed criminal Stuntmaster to get rid of (kill?) the vigilante super-hero Daredevil. Crime-Wave also hired Torpedo to defeat Daredevil. Neither attempt to best the hero was successful. Foggy Nelson finally unmasked Hollis, ending the relatively short career of Crime-Wave.
