Eddie Guzman was a young man (about nineteen years old, Captain America estimated) who was killed, devouted, assimilated and impersonated by an member of the alien race known as the Chitauri.

Eddie Guzman apparently lived near the apartment of Janet Van Dyne (or Janet Pym, better known as the Wasp). A Chitauri assimilated him and tried to attack the Wasp in her apartment. Captain America spotted the Chitauri, however, and captured him.

Captain America thought that the young man he captured was Puerto Rican "if the T-shirt of the Virgin Mary" was anything to go on."

After briefly interrogating the Chitauri who had taken Eddie Guzman's form, the alien escaped Captain America's grasp. Captain America chased him down and ended up killing him.

What Captain America (Steve Rogers) did not realize at the time was that his capture of this Chitauri was all part of a Chitauri plan. The Chitauri wanted Captain America to be paranoid about the Chitauri menace, and they wanted him to believe that a Chitauri detector one of their agents let him use (which is how he detected the "Eddie Guzman" Chitauri) actually worked.

The "real" Eddie Guzman never actually "appeared" in the book which features the Chitauri who assimilated his form.
