When Matt Murdock (Daredevil) was rendered an amnesiac due to a radiation accident, he ended up working for mobster Mr. Hyle. Hyle had Murdock work as a boxer. He trained with Puggy.

When Hyle ordered Murdock to throw a fight, he refused, angering Hyle. Hyle tried to shoot Murdock, but Puggy defended him, getting in the way and getting shot dead in the process.
