Maggie Farrell was the daughter of the old blind man whose life Matt Murdock saved, an incident which led to him gaining super powers and becoming Daredevil.

In the origin story of Daredevil, Matt Murdock is a young boy who lives in Hell's Kitchen, New York City with his father, boxer "Battlin' Jack Murdock." One day young Matt saw an old blind man about to be hit by a truck. Matt pushed the man out of the way, but was hit by the truck himself. The truck was carrying canisters of radioactive waste, which ruptured. The radioactive material got into Matt's eyes, giving blinding him, but also giving him super-human senses. Eventually Matt became the costumed super-hero known as Daredevil.

Many years after this all happened, Daredevil investigated a serial killer who was cutting out people's eyes and then killing them. The serial killer - known in the press as "Johnny Sockets" -- tried to frame Matt Murdock for these crimes. Eventually Daredevil tracked the killer down, and found that the killer was actually Maggie Farrell, the now-adult daughter of the old blind man Matt had saved years earlier.

What Matt could not have known when he saved that man's life was that he was a drunk and a child molester. The old blind man molested his own daughter, Maggie.

Eventually the old man lost the use of his eyes as well as his legs due to his diabetes and alcoholism. He eventually came to deeply regret the harm he caused to his daughter. But by then it was too late. Maggie's childhood twisted her psyche so much that as an adult she sought revenge on the world by blinding and killing innocent people - people who had nothing to do with her childhood suffering. Removing her victims' eyes was a symbolic act that connected them to her father, whom she hated.

More than anybody else, Maggie blamed Matt Murdock, the person who saved the life of her father so many years earlier, thus allowing him to continue molesting her. She wanted to have revenge against Murdock, and thus framed him for the murders she committed.

Maggie was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, which might have been what sent her over the edge and prompted her to commit murder.

When Matt Murdock first met Maggie Farrell, she came to him as a client, seeking his assistance as an attorney. He did not know yet that she was the serial killer Johnny Sockets. She already knew who he was, though. She told him about her cancer and said that she thought an electric company had caused her cancer. Matt agreed to take her case.

Maggie thought that her husband, Sean Farrell, was having an affair. She went crazy over this and killed him.

After Daredevil finally confronted Maggie, she finally decided to surrender. But she dropped the knife she was holding, which landed with a loud "crack" sound. The sound sounded like a gun shot to police who were on the scene. Police shot and killed Maggie Farrell.
