After moving from Haiti to New York City as an adult, Danny Guitar abandoned his Vodoun beliefs and became a criminal and a drug dealer.

As an adult, Johnny Guitar used Voodoo (Vodoun) as a gimmick to further his drug dealing profits, but he no longer had a sincere belief in the religion and he no longer practiced it in a pure way.

Mambo Ezili created Nameless One to punish Danny Guitar for abandoning the Vodoun beliefs he was raised in as a youth growing up in Haiti.
