Tekagi was a member of the villainous group known as the Snakeroot, which was a Ninja religious sect which split off from the Hand. Tekagi was formerly a member of the Hand.
Before Tekagi encountered Daredevil as a member of Snakeroot, he had been Elektra's lover.
Tekagi became the new leader of Snakeroot after the previous leader, Lord Daito, committed suicide. As the leader of Snakeroot, Tekagi was a religious leader for the group as well as the leader of their villainous criminal activities.
Ultimately, Tekagi was killed by his former lover, Elektra.
