Agent Duncan Murray was a rogue FBI agent. He was assigned to work on the FBI's Mutant Civil Rights Task Force. But Agent Duncan Murray was actually strongly anti-mutant in his beliefs and he was involved in a plot against mutans.

Agent Duncan Murray captured and tortured a mutant named Ashton Wither. Duncan was ultimately killed by Ashton Wither, who had the power to cause organic matter to rot and decay, even without physically touching it. Ashton Wither used his power to cause Agent Duncan Murray's insides to rot. Wither thus saved himself from being further tortured or killed by Duncan.
