Carnage invaded the offices of the Daily Bugle and kidnapped J. Jonah Jameson. Spider-Man and Venom wanted to stop Carnage and rescue Jameson. They saw a poster for a Headbanger Heaven concert at Madison Square Garden and knew that would be the most likely place for Carnage to go to find lots of victims to murder, as well as an audience to watch him commit his murders.

Spider-Man and Venom went to Madison Square Garden and found Carnage in the act of killing people and preaching to the audience about how easy and wonderful it was to kill. Carnage was trying to whip the crowd up into a murderous frenzy. Before he could do so, Venom and Spider-Man battled him and ultimately defeated him, with the help of the Fantastic Four's Reed Richards and the Human Torch.

It is not entirely clear to at this time if "Headbanger Heaven" was the name of an actual heavy metal band, or simply the name of a heavy metal concert featuring a variety of bands.
