N'Korik was a monster who was sealed long ago in an urn known as the "cask of the Maniskeet."

In modern times, a Native American urn was unearthed at a construction site. A tribal elder who was present warned the people who found it not to tamper with it. Against his wishes, researches at the city's Natural History Museum unsealed it, releasing the evil creature who had been bound within it. This creature - N'Korik - menaced the city and threatened to transform the entire city into a primeval forest.

N'Korik wants to transform the city (and perhaps the world?) back into the primordial forest it once was so that can once again be the ruling god he was centuries ago.

Only through the combined efforts of Hellboy and Painkiller Jane was N'Korik sealed back in the urn.
