Luther Kane kidnapped Jack Russell's sister Lissa Russell. He held Lissa hostage and then offered Jack Russell her release and a cure for Lissa's lycanthropy in order to pressure him to kill millionaire Judson Hemp.
In his nefarious plot, Luther Kane employed a bodyguard named Desmond. Luther Kane met his end when Desmond threw a dagger at Jack Russell, who dodged the weapon, and the dagger hit and killed Luther.
Luther Kane was the brother of Joshua Kane, who had previously attempted to hunt the Werewolf for sport.
