Nugget was a poodle who belonged to Ms. Throckmorton.
Nugget accompanied her owner Ms. Throckmorton into an upscale department store. On the boutique floor, Nugget urinated. Emma Frost, just out of high school, was working there. It was one of her first jobs. She tried to get Ms. Throckmorton and Nugget to go outside. She ended up angering the customer and her boss, Elaine, who told Emma to clean up the dog's mess. Emma responded by insulting Elaine, who promptly fired her.
