Seafood company owner Caleb McCallum, the boss of Jessica Fletcher's nephew Grady Fletcher, was also at the party. Along with Caleb McCallum was his wife, Louise, clearly a somewhat neglected wife. In the morning, a body was found in the pool The body appeared to be that of Caleb McCallum, still dressed in the Sherlock Holmes costume he wore to the costume party. Jessica Fletcher started investigating and eventually found that the body was not in fact that of Louise McCallum's husband Caleb. Her husband was found alive. The body belonged to a private detective named Baxendale, who was for some reason wearing Caleb's Sherlock Holmes costume. Jessica Fletcher continued investigating and found that Caleb's wife Louise McCallum had an alibis for the time of the murder, putting her in the clear, although there had been some suspicious that she might have committed the murder.
