Jim Grant's real name is "Nick Sloan." He changed his name in order to go into hiding for 30 years when he was wanted by the FBI for murder and bank robbery. Jim Grant/Nick Sloan feels that he is innocent of the crimes he has been accused of. They were orchestrated by a colleague in the Weather Underground. While in hiding, he works on trying to clear his name, although he knows the possibility of doing so may be slim because the FBI regards him as an accomplice in the crimes.
