A professor at Empire State University had a project which or program which millionaire Borya Cich threw a fundraising event at his mansion to raise money for in Gambit (vol. 5) #1. Later, in Gambit (vol. 5) #7 (Feb. 2013), Gambit's friend Fence showed him a video message from this professor, in which she pleads for help from Gambit, because she and some of her students are trapped in the Forever City.
In the next issue, Gambit embarked on a mission to rescue this professor.
