Logan was essentially a mole within the Secret Service. As a Secret Service agent, he was presumably sworn to protect the President of the United States. Yet when the President's life was endangered by a plot whose field leader was Duncan Carlisle, this Secret Service agent was part of the plot against the President.
Secret Service Agent Stan Hoffman was in charge of investigating an incident in the hospital where Dr. Ellen Sanders was scheduled to perform surgery on the President. Dr. Sanders' family was being held hostage by Duncan Carlisle's crew. Dr. Sanders wanted to tell somebody in a way that could get her out of this situation without endangering her family. She was questioned by Stan Hoffman. Dr. Sanders considered telling Agent Hoffman, but when the agent left her alone for a few minutes with the other other person in the room being Logan, Logan let Dr. Sanders know that he was in on the plot against the President indicating that if she said anything to the Secret Service, her family would be killed. Dr. Sanders quickly realized she could not tell Agent Hoffman or any other member of the Secret Service about her plight. Carlisle, it seemed, truly had thought of everything and had eyes and ears everywhere.
