Note: Quentin Creasy leaked story to him to pressure President
White House Chief of Staff Quentin Creasy met secretly with an investigative journalist played by actor Bhavesh Patel. Creasy leaked the news to this journalist that President Paul Kincaid was planning to switch doctors and use a doctor at the naval hospital rather than using Dr. Ellen Kincaid, a public health care doctor. Creasy spun this leak in a way that the revelation it would be embarrassing to the President.
Just as Quentin Creasy and his co-conspirator Duncan Carlisle planned, the journalist published this story. The news instantly drew strong criticism of the President. This revelation was so embarrassing. The President really was planning to switch doctors, but with the way this news came out, it put the President in a bad light. Creasy was able to convince the President to announce that the news was completely false. After all, it only came from an "unnamed source." The White House had not actually announced anything. So the President's Press Secretary announced that there was no plan at all to switch doctors. This discredited the journalist who Creasy had leaked the story to, and put the President in a good light again. Importantly for Duncan Carlisle's and Creasy's purposes, it put the President back on track to undergo surgery at the hands of Dr. Sanders - the woman whose family they held hostage in order to pressure her to kill the President.
