Chris was a kindly uncle to his nephew, who always called him "Uncle Chris."

Uncle Chris found a a horseshoe. He told his nephew about how things were when he was a boy, explaining that horseshoes were lucky back then.

Uncle Chris thought that the horseshoe he found was a "lucky" horseshoe, but it didn't quite work out the way he thought.

As his nephew witnessed, maybe things were different now, different from when Uncle Chris was a boy.
