A boy whose name was not identified called Jibby a "dope." (To be fair, Jibby's various appearances in comic form seem to indicate that he genuinely was a dope.
Jibby was very angry at this boy and chased him through the neighborhood. The boy looked genuinely afraid as he ran from Jibby. He begged Jibby to leave him alone. Finally, Jibby corned the boy. The boy somewhat easily knocked Jibby silly.
Jibby chose the wrong person to bully. It may not have been nice for the boy to call Jibby a "dope," but Jibby should have let well enough alone. The boy did not want to fight, but when he was cornered, he easily held his own against Jibby.
