In Kickers, Inc. #9, New York Smashers owner Christie Chase tried to sell the team in order to raise money to pay off her serious gambling debts. Jack Magniconte didn't want the sale to go through because it meant the team would move from New York to Los Angeles. He challenged her to a tennis match, with the stakes being that if he won, the team wouldn't be sold and wouldn't move. With his super powers, Jack easily won the tennis match.
"C.C." Chase (as she likes to be called) is somewhat obsessed with her high-society lifestyle.
