The villain known only as "the Green Terror" was a white man of European descent living in South Africa. He learned the secret of immortality from a mysterious tribe living deep within the African interior. He used this "secret" to extend his life, but the process turned his hair and skin green.

The "secret of immortality" which the Green Terror utilized involved kidnapping healthy young people and draining their blood, combining it with African orchids, and creating a concoction which he imbibed. It is not entirely clear to what extent this mysterious tribe's process was purely "scientific" versus mystical. It is quite possible that there was a strong mystical or magical component to the immortality process. The draining of victims' blood in order to obtain immortality seems more like something drawn from dark magic or dark cult practices rather than something found in medical science.

There is no indication that the Green Terror used other aspects of the mysterious African tribe's ancient teachings, such as their ethical or doctrinal teachings. He just wanted their secrets of immortality. It is quite possible that the tribe utilized these secrets in some sort of organized, traditional way within the framework of a broader traditional belief system, and that the Green Terror corrupted these practices for his own selfish purposes. Not enough is known about the tribe to determine whether they used their knowledge in an evil way and preyed on innocent victims (perhaps members of neighboring tribes) or if they used their knowledge in an ethical, positive way.
