Mick Bronson was hired by Fritz Krotze (the CEO and founder of Krotze International) to obtain the latest M.A.X. armor design blueprints and technology from the inventor: Dr. Karl Swensen. Mick Bronson wore the M.A.X. Model 1 armor while engaged in this criminal mission. Bronson was supposed to force Dr. Swensen to hand over the blueprints and the newer model of M.A.X. technology. Things did not go exactly as Krotze had planned, however. While attempting to steal force this information from Dr. Swensen, Mick Bronson ended up killing Dr. Swensen. The M.A.X. model 2 armor was too well hidden. Bronson did not find it.

Dr. Karl Swensen's daughter Jenny later found the M.A.S. model 2 armor in her father's laboratory. She stole the armor from Krotze International.

Later, Mick Bronson (wearing the model 1 armor) confronted Jenny Swensen (who was wearing the model 2 armor). Jenny Swensen managed to defeat Bronson and escape. She confronted Krotze, telling him that once she had found proof that he and Bronson had killed her father, she would turn them into the authorities.
