Senator Dan Hurt became an ally of Jenny Swensen (known as "Spitfire"). The Senator arranged for Jenny to testify about how Fritz Krotze and his underlings had killed her father, Dr. Karl Swensen. As part of this agreement, Jenny Swensen was to turn over physical evidence to Senator Hurt.
Fritz Krotze found out about this and sent the assassin Steel Hawk to kill Senator Hurt. Jenny Swensen, as the armored "Spitfire," was able to save the Senator from the assassination attempt.
