The Clench is an alliance of neutral worlds which are separate from the Shi'ar Imperium, although they in the same space claimed by the Shi'ar as part of their empire. The Shi'ar regard the Clench planets as "anarchist," and this is how Clench worlds and their inhabitants are often described, but it is not entirely clear if this is precisely how they identify themselves.
