Bruce Banner (secretly the Hulk) was visiting his cousin Jennifer Walters in Los Angeles when gangsters working for Nick Trask shot her. Banner managed to save her live with a blood transfusion, and then he called police. The police brought Banner to the police station. They said they were going to go talk to the district attorney about the case and have the D.A. talk to Bruce Banner further. After the police left him to go talk to the D.A., Banner fled the scene because he feared talking to the D.A. would uncover his secret - that he was the alter ego of the monstrous Hulk.
