In the play "Riverside Drive," Jim's mistress Barbara threatens to blackmail him because he is ending their illicit affair. Barbara threaten to tell Jim's wife about the affair. There are many references to Jim's wife, but she is not portrayed on stage.

By the end of the play, Jim has learned a lesson: that it never pays to cheat on one's spouse.
