Gwyneth was the mother of "Baby Karen." Gwyneth saw visions of angels which convinced her that the baby was conceived by immaculate conception. Gwyneth believed that her baby was the new Messiah. She believed that sinister men were trying to find her and take or destroy her baby. So Gwyneth sought help from attorney Matt Murdock.

Gwyneth left Baby Karen with Murdock (who was secretly Daredevil). This was all part of a plot devised by Mysterio (Quentin Beck). Ultimately Gwyneth was killed by henchmen working for Mysterio.
