Although an unnamed corrupt guard played a pivotal role in the story in which he appeared, it seems that only actually appeared in one panel, as a tiny figure in shadow. This guard worked at Westmoor Prison (where #711 was incarcerated, but freely escaped from when he wanted to. The guard took a bribe (of $5000) to allow gangster "Big Boy" Bern and two henchmen access to inmate "Lush" Chikka, a prisoner who had decided to testify against his former boss.

In one panel we can see the guard on the dock of the island-based prison. "Big Boy" Bern (who is a very short man) is standing next to the guard, and Bern's two henchmen are seen getting out of the boat that brought them to the island.

In subsequent panels we see Bern and the two henchmen as they make their way to Chikka' cell in their attempt to kill him (to silence him), and we see the heroic #711 intervene and prevent the murder. But we never see the guard again. #711 was fully aware of the corrupt guard's involvement, however, and provided information about the guard to the warden so that this guard would not get away with what he did.
