The Hellboy Companion (p. 40) identifies Liz Sherman as a Catholic:
She was raised in a strictly religious family and attended Catholic school as well as twice-weekly Mass. [...] Liz was convinced that the fires [caused by her pyrokinesis] were her fault -- punishment for some unknown sin -- and she turned more and more to prayer as a means of managing her guilt.
According to Theresa, who wrote to us with this information, Liz's Catholicism "isn't really apparent in the comics, except for perhaps her guilt complex."
