Psylocke's real name and abilities were never revealed. The character was never even depicted "on-panel," but was referenced in conversation. Psylocke as one of the first members of M-Branch to die from radiation poisoning.

It is not even known whether or not Psylocke was male or female. Some of M-Branch's "new versions" of the X-Men were not the same gender as the mutant heroes they were named for. Thus, the fact that the real Psylocke (Betsy Braddock) is female tells us nothing about whether her unseen emulator was male or female.
