The Adder was presumably skilled in martial arts, as were his men. He was experienced with a sword. Both he and his men were garbed in the fashion of warriors of ancient China. He was merciless, and was willing to torture his own family if need be. Became one of the wealthiest men in Chinatown by selling heroin. His true name remained secret.
