A local witch doctor lived on a small island called "Lost Island Prison" cursed a man with whom he had a grievance. The witch doctor was a powerful mystic, and turned the man into a gigantic ape-like creature, a curse that could be transferred to others. "Witch doctors" and gorillas are traditionally associated with African primal religion.
