An attempt by the Scarlet Warlock to grant Magneto the powers of the Brotherhood of Mutants inadvertently combined them all (Wolverine, Quicksilver, Scarlet Warlock, Magneto, Mesmero) into one gestalt being. As Brother Mutant, it sought to gain more power.
